CSO Involvement in Developing Business and Human Rights National Action Plan.
The Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC) participated in the roadmap consultation meeting with CSOs to develop the national action plan on business and human rights on November 2, 2023, at the Four Points by Sheraton Dar es Salaam New Africa.
Adv. Joyce Komanya, Senior Program Officer- Corporate Accountability and Environmental Justice LHRC, spoke on behalf of the CSOs on the importance of NAP processes and the role played by CSOs during the development and validation of the process.
The meeting was organized by the Commission for Human Rights and Good Governance (CHRAGG) in collaboration with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights East African Regional Office (OHCHR-EARO) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The session was part of gathering stakeholder comments and validating the roadmap on the national action plan for the business and human rights development process to ensure meaningful engagement to reinforce protection, respect, and remedy frameworks to promote responsible business conduct.
