LHRC Honored with Lifetime Human Rights Legacy Award at Africa NGOs Awards Gala 2026
LHRC was honored with the Lifetime Human Rights Legacy Award at the Africa NGOs Awards Gala 2026, hosted by Corporate Solution Worldwide Tanzania at Serena Hotel, Dar es Salaam, in recognition of an enduring legacy in advancing human rights, justice and the rule of law.
As our ED, Dr Anna Henga, reminded us, this recognition rests on real numbers: every day, our legal aid clinics offer legal aid to more than 100 people.
Alongside that, we continue pushing for policy and law reform, working to change the systems that shape people's access to justice, not just the individual cases in front of us.
This award isn't for one campaign or one year. It's for every victim we've walked with, every training room where someone found their voice, and every policy table where we insisted human rights aren't negotiable.
We share it with our partners, our staff and every Tanzanian who believes a just and equitable society is worth building.
